Rhinoplasty – Before and After

Very excited to share before/after photos of a wonderful patient. This is a young gentleman that had prior nasal surgery and was left with a saddle nose deformity. This is a great case because it highlights the importance of close evaluation and communication with the patient. What many people see as a “hump” on the nose, is actually the nose “sagging” in some parts. Rather than “removing/shaving the hump”, you get a better aesthetic and functional result by building up the sagging parts of the nose, to give a masculine, straight, nasal dorsum. This patient required rib reconstruction.

Septal Perforation Repair Before and After

The above case demonstrates a 45-year-old woman that came to see Dr. Mourad who developed a hole in her septum secondary to cocaine use. The photo on the left is a photo into the left nostril that demonstrates the 1.2 cm perforation which is located in the front portion of the septum. Her symptoms included noisy breathing, frequent nasal crusting, and bleeding. She also suffered from frequent sinus infections. The picture on the right demonstrates an intraoperative view of the repaired perforation, immediately after the repair. This perforation was repaired using a left-sided local flap (link to local flap). The technique used was an Anterior Ethmoid Artery Pedicled Flap. This technique uses rearrangement of tissue within the nasal cavity to close the hole in the septum. She has mild swelling in the area that will resolve with time.

Before and After Female Revision Rhinoplasty

This young female patient that had a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Mourad using her own rib. She came in 9 years after a primary rhinoplasty with another surgeon in New York City. She complained about her nose looking “deformed and unnatural”. The photo on the left shows her before photo. As you can see, she has asymmetry of her nasal tip. A functional and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Mourad looks at the “tip defining points”. These can best be appreciated by the reflective white light points at the tip. In her photo on the left, you can see that the patient’s right light point is higher then her left point. This was because her nose was twisted, with malformation and poor positioning of her cartilages.

Many years ago, when she had her original surgery, they removed cartilage that caused asymmetrical scarring and positioning of the cartilages as the years wore on. Over time, her nose began to droop looking unnatural. In her after photo on the right, you can see that her tip points are symmetric, with symmetric casting of light and shadows. Using her rib through a minimally invasive approach and access through a 1.2 cm incision, Dr. Mourad was able to recreate the natural contours of the nose. This photo is only 1 month after surgery, with still some swelling that should come down with time.

Female Ethnic Rhinoplasty 1 Month Before and After

1 month before and after pictures of my wonderful patient who underwent a Rhinoplasty. This is an incredibly wonderful patient of mine that underwent some changes to her dorsum and nasal tip to enhance her look while improving her breathing. She is still 1 month out and still has some swelling that will only continue to improve!

Closed Rhinoplasty

Intra op photo of a closed rhinoplasty. This rhinoplasty techniques uses no visible incisions, minimizes post operative pain and swelling, and reduces recovery time- so you can get back to life sooner and breathing better!

Male Deviated Septum / Rhinoplasty Before and After

Very pleased to post before and after photos of my patient who had a rhinoplasty. The patient is a pleasant and wonderful 40 year old Male that came to me looking to fix the appearance of his nose.

The photos on the left show the before, where he had a droopy tip, dorsal hump and bony deviation to his left. Important considerations are to address all these areas without compromising the patient’s masculinity and keeping his nose in harmony with the remainder of his other facial features. He underwent rib reconstruction through a minimally invasive 1.2 cm incision, due to an absence of septal cartilage.

He is currently 3 weeks out and still has mild swelling but still looks great! He should continue to heal well and look good!

Female Rhinoplasty Before and After

Happy to share these before and after rhinoplasty photos of my wonderful and lovely park ave patient. She had breathing and aesthetic concerns that were addressed with a closed rhinoplasty. This type of surgery involves no visible scars or incisions. Its a small detail, but makes a big difference! I feel fortunate to be trusted with my patient’s faces and their physical well being.

Male Facelift Before and After

Thrilled to share before and after male facelift! This wonderful Park Ave patient came in wanting to look more refreshed and youthful without an operated look. He is seen here only 2 months postoperatively after a facelift and necklift.

Female Open Rhinoplasty Before and After

Very excited to show this before/after on the table photo of a wonderful young lady that underwent an open rhinoplasty. Small tip changes that improve rotation and definition, in addition to changes to the nasal dorsum can greatly improve nasal aesthetics.

Male Revision Rhinoplasty Before and After

This is a wonderful Park Ave patient of mine who came in unsatisfied with his outcome after surgery with another area surgeon. I was able to perform a revision rhinoplasty using the patient’s own rib. Through a 1.2 cm minimally invasive access incision, I was able to obtain the graft that was used to reconstruct the internal portions of the nose. His problem areas were a droopy tip, poor tip definition, dorsal hump, and a nonfunctioning nose.
